Millennium Falcon is my favorite spacecraft in the Star Wars series. There is more than one of the same model, because this is an old transport ship YT-1300. It’s setting is one of the fastest vessels in the universe (of course there are reasons behind it), and its appearance worn-out and shabby exterior, etc., but it can complete the task for thr Republic & Rebel...
What I share this time is the prequel of Solo, the original version owned by Lando, which is the "first generation". Its appearance is complete without exposed machinery afterwards. In particular, the appearance of the escape ship in front has been completed. And the blue pattern on the white body fully expresses its new net feeling. After all, this is Lando's love machine.
Of course, the bet will be lost in Solo's hands afterwards, and the use of it is relatively crude and old, which makes the current appearance also have a different flavor...This is a later story.
Bandai owned this license and released different versions based on the details of each episode. And this Lando version is even rarer. It was bought at a low price when I traveling to Japan few years ago.
Compared with the Solo version, although its appearance is less detailed, it also omits the structure of the landing gears, the entrance under the machine. But it has an escape ship, and the classic living room interior.
The factory's thoughtful design makes me built it very smooth. Therefore, the production is mainly to spend more time hand painting on the detailed characters, cockpit, living room, shooting room and escape machinery, because these are all built inside.
For the main body, I first used a pure white spray can as the basic color. After that, I used three kinds of gray washing to make the old grayish white.
The most difficult part of the appearance is the blue pattern. Because the overall spread in circular, the stickers are not suitable for the details of the mode. Only water decal can be used, but there is also a fear of crooked and damaged stickers. So I spent a lot of time in a quiet environment. After finishing the blue pattern decal, looking at the remaining hundreds of tiny decal ones, I just pasted them one by one. On the contrary, some yellow marks are stuck on the white hull but it’s not obvious, so I use orange color to paint by hand according to the instructions sheet in order to restore the hull settings and not be too monotonous.
As a result, it took seven hours to post this part, and it was very tiring to complete.
With this experience, I can make other versions...
