Hasegawa 1/72 Heinkel He 51. Originally released in 1970, it needed quite a bit of work. Amongst the upgrades:-
- Built a more credible cockpit (seat, joystick, instrument panel, internal structure)
- Rescribed panel lines and drilled out rivets.
- Added a grill inside the air intake (completely invisible from more than 2cm away)
- 3D printed gun barrels (not supplied)
- 3D printed drop tank (not supplied)
- 3D printed exhaust pipes to replace poor kit parts
- Rigged using Uschi Van Der Rosten thread
- Added treads on landing gear legs from styrene rod
- Replaced pilot foothold with thin wire
- Engraved tire tread
- Replaced kit windshield with thinner acetate piece
- Laser printed custom black decals with matching Cricut masks for white areas
(The tail marking has been doctored in Photoshop to meet FB's standards; it's correct/accurate on the actual model)
